Craft Boutique + Patriotic Pillows

Last week was the Simple Treasures Craft Boutique. I created a lot of new product and we designed a better booth set up by using PVC pipe instead of wood. I'll blog a little about that in a later post. I also have a couple of craft tutorials.

Here are a few pictures of the booth:

Here are a few of my favorite pillows:

All these pillows and more are available in my Esty.com shop.

Craft Boutique and Halloween Pillows

Big News! I signed up to do a booth at a local craft boutique called Simple Treasures. Visit the website HERE. The show will be September 18th-21st. I have been busy making things and working on a booth layout.
To get ready for this craft boutique Matt and I designed a business logo, bought a domain (champanplaceblog.com),designed and ordered fabric labels and business cards. I found this great tutorial on how to design a fabric label. I found through this tutorial a company called Spoonflower.com where we could have the labels printed on fabric and mailed to us. For a yard of my label fabric we paid $20. A yard gave us around 300 labels.

We paid $25 for 250 business cards. We had them printed by a local company that Matt has ties to. For some reason this picture makes the gray around the owls look purple...

The other day I brought some of my stuff I will be selling to a local magazine's photo-shoot for Simple Treasures Craft Boutique. The September issue will feature some of my stuff on the cover. This photo is not what the final cover picture will look like. I have also blurred out the items that are not mine. Be sure to come to the craft boutique in September and buy some of my stuff!

I have added some new Halloween pillows to my Etsy Shop that are now available for purchase.

Frankenstein Pillow

Frankenstein Pillow Tutorial:
I designed a stencil on my Sir Cuts A lot program and cut it out with my Cricut. I then made a 11"x26" pillowcase out of a painter's dropcloth. After those two steps, I sprayed the back of the stencil with spray adhesive and centered it on the front pillowcase piece.
Next, I taped the bolts off, and painted that area with silver acrylic paint. Once the silver paint was dry, I took the tape off and painted the letters with lime green acrylic paint.
This is what the front of the pillow looked like after the stencil was pulled off.
I wanted to add some pizazz to the lettering, so I used my sewing machine and sewed on some stitches. Next, with right sides together, I sewed the back piece onto the front piece. Be sure to leave a hole so you can turn it right side out. Finally I stuffed it with stuffing and sewed the hole shut.

SO
CUTE!!!
I also made a Frankenstein pillow with felt letters.
Crow Pillow
Using the same technique as my Trick or Treat Pillows, I made myself some Gobble Gobble Gobble pillows. I think they turned out just as adorable...

All of the above pillows are for sale in my Etsy Shop.

My Mom has also made some fantastic Halloween pillows. If you wonder where I get my creativity, it comes from my mother.
Aren't they adorable!
My mom found a pattern for these two pillows on Pinterest and recreated some for herself...
Isn't this Frank pillow the cutest! My mom is so talented.
